Kentucky Trooper Shot During Traffic Stop Saved by Good Samaritans; Suspect Killed After Standoff

A Kentucky state trooper was shot during a routine traffic stop near Blue Grass Airport in Lexington.

The shooter, identified as 47-year-old Guy House, fled the scene after injuring the officer, carjacking a vehicle during his escape.

Good Samaritans at the scene quickly rendered aid to the trooper, who was later transported to the hospital and has been recovering since the July incident.
Authorities located House hours later. After refusing to surrender, he was fatally shot by police.

Kentucky State Police praised the civilians whose actions may have saved the trooper’s life.
